Hello!

Welcome to my blog! This is the place where I plan to share my journey into publishing and hopefully share what I learn along the way. I am an avid reader so you will most likely see some book reviews too here and there. I am also a single mom. My world currently revolves around my son. So I plan on sharing some of our favorite books!

So a little about me...

I've been writing since I was about eleven. However, I have always loved to read. I have always loved stories, and I've had a big imagination. I blame my father in a good way. He was always making up stories for bedtime. While he read books to us, he made up his own tales for the most part. As an adult, I find myself writing stories that are geared around young people. Looking back, I'm not surprised. I grew up reading books like The Outsiders, The Pigman, The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, Ember City, The Singer of All Songs, Narnia, and Ella Enchanted. It would make sense that I've always been drawn to young adult and middle grade books. With my son now especially, I am excited to introduce him to my childhood favorites as he grows up.

Fantasy is my favorite genre, but I also enjoy historical, Christian, sci-fi, and many others. However, I must admit that I tend to stick to the tried and true. I write a lot of fantasy, or at least adventure stories. My stories usually lean towards good vs evil, adventures that take the MC into a journey that molds and shapes them into something better. (hence my earlier books mentioned my childhood inspirations. you can see that I love my adventure stories)

To wrap things up. As I said, I am a single mom. We both are big super hero fans, and we have a lot of fun on my parents farm. When I'm not taking care of him, I like to read (of course!), take walks (though I take a lot of walks with him), and I love to sketch. I have been self teaching for a while now how to make videos that move and are relaxing for my YouTube. I'm the avid self teacher. I've taught myself the basics of cross stitching, sewing, photo editing, and cookie decorating. I also self taught myself so much about bath bomb making and soap making. I had a shop for a while, but for many reasons, it just did not work out. I hope to do it again someday, when the time and place is right in my life. It was a lot of fun making up scents and names. So when it comes to writing, I also tend to be very DIY and hands on. While I'm not really crafty, I have a creative spirit for weird and random things that probably will come through on my blog.
